Everyone in this town seems to be ridiculously polyamorous (just don't let their partners know), and they'll be damned if gender is going to play a roll in which Sim is getting boffed that night. I've played it for quite some time now, and after ALSO running into Jared at the park and at work, ended up cheating on my "husband". VJ apparently was furious when I (in real life) had walked away from the computer for about 5 minutes. By the time I got back to the screen, VJ and Jared were in the middle of a knockout, dragdown catfight, while my Sim was glued to a computer playing video games. All this aside, I think if I recall, Jared has the "Flirty" attribute, which my Sim does as well, so perhaps they just gravitate to each other. Also if you establish a romantic path for guys v. girls, your Sim seems to hit on that gender exclusively from that point on. I dunno.
